I always get asked why I started JPS Health & Fitness.
A lot of people don’t know I dropped out of a law degree with only 6 months left. So why would I drop out?
Most of you will never understand why I threw away a career as a lawyer to become a personal trainer.
See, I was studying to become a lawyer and realised that it just wasn’t for me. As a teenager, I battled with my body weight, body image and had an extremely poor relationship with food. I followed fad diets, I trained to the extreme and my lifestyle was unsustainable.
I knew I needed change, and that there was a better way.
So I looked for a solution…
And in the process, I fell in love with Science. I loved the evidence behind fat loss, muscle growth and strength development and guess what! I started seeing sustainable progress.
I began reading scientific literature, research reviews and applied this research to my training and my clients. They started to get stronger, leaner, and escape the prison like mentality that most feel when they ‘diet’ to lose weight.
The problem was, that I was only one trainer and my ability to impact the community was limited. I needed a team of like-minded, passionate and evidence-based coaches to help me spread the word. To share my philosophy for training, diet and lifestyle and ultimately help people get results.
JPS Health & Fitness was born.

We conduct over 600 one-on-one personal training sessions per week from our Airport West studio, helping more and more individuals achieve their goals through evidence-based resistance training and nutritional practices.
