WHY ARE YOU A COACH?
I love people and theres is no better feeling than being alongside someone on a journey to feel better about themselves and achieve something they never knew they could. I find the human body so fascinating, I’m forever amazed by the fact that by manipulating training and nutritional practices we can change the way our body functions, looks, performs and feels. I believe everyone can benefit from some form of movement, exercise is both preventative and curing medicine, and everyone should be doing it.
"Your body can either be your best friend or your worst enemy. It all depends on how you treat it"
“Training with Alicia aka Meatball, has been incredible, she has taught me so much, especially proper technique. I have improved on everything I do, with and without her in the gym and I’m loving every second of it. The programs that have been set are challenging but it’s so rewarding to see progress in both my strength and shape. Alicia has also given me the knowledge to understand how a diet works, by setting my dietary targets and showing me how plan out my meals to stay within my macros, I’ve seen more definition, I have lost a lot of weight and gained muscle, and I feel so much better in my own skin. I couldn’t have done it without Alicia really pushing me and staying on top of me. Best coach so far. #meatball”
I have been coached by Alicia for only 8 weeks so far and looking back my lifestyle at that time VS now the differences I can see are not all about my physical changes. Week 1 I told Alicia the chances of me stepping foot in a gym in the morning were very slim, I was “not a morning person” fast forward 8 weeks to now and I couldn’t think of starting my day any other way! I have trained in gyms for several years, even worked with 2 different online coaches along the way but there are certain points that I have found set Alicia apart from my past experiences. She really cares about my form and actually educates me on proper technique by sending me advice and feedback every week on ways to improve each lift. Sometimes she actually sends me a video of herself demonstrating an exercise instead of just sending me a youtube link. She is thorough with her programming, recording every weight and every rep to ensure I am progressive overloading each week. She understands that I am not a pro bodybuilder, that fitness is my hobby and not my profession, so that when I want to go out for a meal, I can. She has even helped me put a plan of action into place where I’m able to stay on track for that time of the month when previously it would set me back a lot. I feel confident in having Alicia as a coach and highly recommend to my friends, looking forward to seeing what we can accomplish this year!
I have been fortunate enough to be coached by Alicia for the past 5 months. It hasn’t been long, but I have learned so much from this wonderful lady. From tweaking my technique so I don’t further injure myself, to giving me an outstanding amount of advice about my journey to physique competition. Alicia is a little ball of sunshine that definitely puts all her time and effort to ensure all of her clients are receiving the best possible personal training service. She has helped me understand the basics of nutrition tracking and now I’m confident to track and plan out my meals on my own – it only took 16 weeks but with her patience and keeping my accountable, we got there! I’ve also have gained a noticeable amount muscle mass in the past few months and I feel confident that I will do well on stage in September, 2019. I am proud to call Alicia my coach and life mentor! Keep up the great work girl!
I first came to Alicia telling her “I want to be leaner and stronger… and I want to be able to do a pull up.” When I met Alicia I wasn’t new to the gym, but I didn’t have any structure to my training and I was lacking the confidence to pick up heavy weights. Alicia introduced me to a strength-focussed training style (which I now absolutely love!). I get excited each week to see progress with my lifts and I have so much more confidence in lifting heavier weights than I’ve ever lifted before. She helped structure my training and nutrition (using a flexible dieting approach) which has allowed me to smash so many goals already, including amazing changes to my body composition and being able to do multiple pull ups! I couldn’t have asked for a better or more supportive coach and I’m so grateful for her knowledge and guidance every step of the way!
‘I started training with Alicia 6 months ago after feeling as though I had plateaued in following my own independent program. Since that time I have progressed so much in both my strength and confidence when it comes to working out. I am now deadlifting more than double what I used to, without any pain, and I am consistently lifting heavy weights in exercises I never had the guts to try on my own. One of the most important positive factors I have found in training with Alicia, is that she is fully supportive of whatever moment I am at in my own journey rather than pushing her own agenda. She has guided me with compassion, advice and kick arse training through injuries, illness, poor motivation and overeating! I am so grateful to Alicia for helping me to get back to feeling strong & confident.’
“My coach Alicia!! Where do I start! I came on board with Alicia after having about a year and a half off from competitive tennis. I went from playing and training 6 days a week, to not doing or playing anything for quite a while, so I felt so sloppy and unmotivated!I always wanted to join the gym at the time, but never knew what I was actually doing, I had no clue on how to start and knew I wasn’t going to get anywhere without a personal trainer. I sussed out a few personal trainers in my area, and knew Alicia as the gun PT who just trained like an absolute boss herself, and whose physical appearance also motivated my own, so I decided she was the one I wanted to work with. My first session was such a laugh! I was the most uncomfortable person on the planet, unsure of what I was doing and doubted my every movement, but Alicia was so patient and knew exactly where I needed to start, so my mindset soon changed! Fast forward to now, she has taught me how to do basic movements and lifts with confidence, she believes in my goals, and also has taught me to just be myself by doing the things that make me happy, and removing things that don’t! My body has changed, I understand meal plans, have better general nutrition knowledge, and I’m more confident in making the right food choices for my goals when I used to pay no attention to what I ate previously. I can’t look back now knowing the massive impact that going to the gym and coaching has played in my life, it has been the best change ever!
